Alain Mailhot, sculptor and toymaker, uses a hundred species of wood from 5 continents in his animal-shaped creations: pencil and paint brush holders. The artist uses oil and wax as protective coatings allowing enjoyment of the wood’s tactile and visual textures and natural colours. Alain Mailhot participated in many exhibits in Quebec, Canada and Europe since 1978. Numerous publications and newspapers from Quebec and the United States have praised his work.
